2ND WEEK OF MAY 2010

My busy, busy week & weekends prior to Gawai Dayak Celebration.

Last Thursday (6th May), took my old good friends Floria Baun who was on vacation to Miri, to dined at Barcelona and Linda, three of us went out together.. So many to talk about, sharing our personal life as we have not met with one another for more than 2 years or more especially Floria who marries to an American and resides at Texas. Floria stills look the same, slim as ever, and our friend Linda at last have found a life partner , me and Floria are happy for her.

On Friday (7th May) took a day leave, as I had to do personal errands esp. on the new home. That evening me and daughter went to dine at New Seafood Tanjong, we had a simple and light meals. Maia makai, bisi tepeda ke keta parking nicely not far from our table, it's my dream car... Toyota Mark X 300G series white color! It's so sporty and elegant! (dream, dream...)

Saturday morning (8th May), woke up quite late in the morning, rush to send my daughter to Dynasty Hotel to attend the Dayak Students Excellence Awards Presentation Ceremony cum Sustaining Excellence Workshop in conjuction with Miri Divisional Gawai Dayak Celebration for 2010. My daughter was one of the PMR recipient to receive the Award. This year is the biggest number of Dayak students scored Straight A's. Happy to hear that each year Dayak students are improving and hopefully we Dayak will be at par with other races in the country. The workshop was conducted by Mr Marcus Raja. The Motivational Talk was from Dr Roland Dom Mattu and by the Guest of Honor YB Lihan Jok. I hope my daughter and those who attended gain valuable knowledge and inspired by the message given by Dr Roland Mattu and YB Lihan as they spoke on their personal experience as a student and how they succeed in life and became a role model to the young generation. Hope that more Dayak students will follow their footsteps.

After the Award presentation Ceremony ended, all the students were given a coupon to have lunch at Dynasty Hotel. After my daughter had a light lunch, we went to Secret Receipe as I had not taken my lunch. My daughter had chocolate walnut cake and milk shake, I had Beef lasagnae and Ice Lemon Tea.



In the evening me and family members with few friends attended the Gawai Dayak celebration at Dewan Suarah, we bought table number 74. This year the Gawai Dayak Divisional Celebration was hosted by Org Ulu, the Guest of Honor who came was Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Jabu and the Patron was Datuk Jacob, but he was not able to attend. As usual Highlight of the Gawai Dayak Celebration was the Kumang (Iban & Bidayuh), Keligit (Org Ulu) and Keling (Iban & Org Ulu), 6 contestants each from Iban, Bidayuh & Org Ulu community compete. I went home at 12 mid-nite after the Keligit's parade at the stage, can't wait for the announcement, understand Ryan plate number 3 took the Keling Iban's title and Jane plate number 6 won the Kumang's title. Congrats to Ryan and Jane. (nasip sempat posing enggau sduai) hehehe . That nite my kamera battery went low so I could not capture the highlight of the Gawai Dayak Celebration, but I believe other bloggers must have capture it.

My most memorable moment 2010 Gawai Dayak Celebration is to have the opportunity to take one nice pose with Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Jabu; as we welcome him as the Guest of Honor that night.
Sunday, (9th May).. went to scout for Living Room Sofa and Dinning Table for the new home. I love one particular Sofa from Lorenzo, I might take it. (Ngantik approval ari "Bank Negara" @ Menteri Kewangang). Dinning Table, have not decided yet, don't know which one to choose from the two I've selected. (Maybe i'll go for the round one with six seater).

In the evening, we had Mother's Day dinner, it was a simple family gathering at Tmn Tunku, my sister-in law baked a simple cake, and bought few dishes as she had won 4D Sweep that day; she bought the Gawai Dayak Dinner table number (0734).. untung amai!!

To end the weekend, my daughter bought me a nice pink carnation for me as her gift to me on Mother's Day, she bought it a day earlier. My sons just wish me Happy Mother's Day. Boys will always be boys. Thank you my dearest princess Elizabeth, mummy loves the carnation & chocolate, I know you bought it from the bottom of your heart.. (enggai iya madah rega, enda ibOh mummy nemu ko iyO, i just love mummy so much ko iya and wish me Happy Mother's Day, ur the best mum in the world to me ko iya!). mmmmmmmm jako peransang nyO!
